the HOPE

There is a source of hope & help for you, a book unlike any other.  It’s the most published, most translated book in history.

Known as the Bible, this book was written by more than forty people over a period of 1,500 years.  Yet, as if its authors were guided by an unseen hand, there emerges from its pages one story of eternal proportions.

The HOPE brings to you a powerful dramatic overview of this incredible story.

hope is your fuel

There is a condition of the mind that is essential for us to live the kind

of lives we are longing for.  Call it hope, trust, or confidence.  It is the single

greatest difference between those who try and those who give up.  When it

is lost we are sunk.

Hope is the fuel that the human heart runs on.  A car crash or a diving

accident can paralyze the body, but the death of hope paralyzes the spirit.

Hope is what prompts a young man and woman to stand before a preacher

and promise “I do” even though they have no guarantees.

Hope is what fuels the same couple, many years later, after broken promises and broken hearts, to give their promise another try.

Hope is the single greatest difference between those who try

and those who give up.  When it’s lost, we’re sunk—

Hope is why human beings keep bringing children into a destructive world.

Hope is why there are hospitals and universities.

Hope is why there are therapists and consultants, and why the Colorado Rockies keep going to spring training.

No composer would agonize over a musical score without the hope that some glimmer of beauty will emerge from the struggle.

No parents would agonize over a child without the hope that the child might live a better, nobler, happier life than they did.

The story of every character in the Bible is a story of hope—

The story of every character in the Bible is the story of hope.

Hope is what made Abraham leave home.

Hope is what made Moses willing to take on Pharaoh.

Hope is what drove the prophets to keep taking on city hall.

Hope is what made twelve diverse men leave everything to follow Jesus.

Hope prompted the apostle Peter to climb out of a boat and walk on water.

We can survive the loss of an extraordinary number of things, but no one can outlive hope.  When it is gone, we are done.  Therefore the capacity to stay focused on the presence and power of God in our lives becomes supremely important.

When we become more focused on the overwhelming nature of the storm than the overwhelming presence of God, we’re in trouble.  The Bible speaks of this as “losing heart.”

Your ability to live in hope is largely dependent on two things.  First and foremost, your belief in and relationship with the risen Jesus.  And secondly, what you feed your mind.
