leadership
Leaders are people who have an innate ability to attract people to the project in which the leader is involved.
Leaders are people who make things happen.
According to the New Testament, spiritual leaders are empowered by the Holy Spirit to become servant-leaders, leaders who lead by serving.
God has blessed Hope Community with many fine leaders. Those listed here are just a few.

Dan Nygaard lead pastor
With 25 years pastoral experience, Dan’s seen a lot and remains convinced the church is the best hope for the world. He’s been to Israel and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and is an adjunct professor at Colorado Christian University. He’s a good story-teller, occasional writer, and pretty good listener. Dan starts each day with the Bible and then The Wall Street Journal. Married 31 years to a great lady with two boys; one’s a student at Georgia Tech after completing a stint in the Air Force, and the other’s at Hillsdale College in Michigan.
Eddie Castro actions inspirer
A highly awarded public school teacher who is fluent in Spanish, Ed has a servant’s heart and a sharp mind. It’s Ed’s job to constantly challenge Hope Community, provoking us towards becoming an authentic church. Ed has the gift of fun, encourages everyone, and occasionally preaches. Married 32 years to a talented artist, Ed’s got two adult sons—both now living in California after graduating from Colorado University.
Karen Workman spiritual inspirer
A talented, proven woman who’s led youth groups and mission trips, Karen is now launching her own business and Hope Cares. She’s filled with compassion and is a gifted public speaker, occasionally preaching on Sundays. Karen and her husband have three terrific boys; one works as an editor, two are attending Colorado State University (after having taken a semester off to bicycle Europe).
Mark Fusher worship inspirer
A talented musician and gifted leader, Mark’s goal is to gently usher you into the presence of your heavenly Father … he’s not a worship “cheerleader”. Mark has a unique sensitivity to the things of God, and occasionally preaches. Mark and his wife run their own business. They’ve raised great kids; two are adults with families, and the youngest is a college freshman. contact Mark
Rob Miller greeters & psalm readers

Rob’s got great business acumen—currently leading the start up a charter school for students with Cerebral Palsy. Rob and wife have four kids; one adult daughter, twins in college (in Ohio and Kansas) and one in high school.
Carl Elliott home group inspirer
Sensitive and welcoming to others, Carl and his wife Ginger make their home a gathering place where friends old and new can find refreshment and encouragement. Carl’s a machine tool craftsman, and his spirit of gentleness is an oasis of hope for all who have the good fortune to experience Carl’s gentle spirit. Carl has adult children, and he and his wife enjoy their elementary age daughter.
