Ai good

Various critics have joined some AI developers, warning about Artificial Intelligence. As Big Tech races to develop technology more intelligent than humans, some technologists fear AI could escape human control, then put an end to humanity.
Scoffers dismiss such fears.
This summer OpenAI reported on an experiment in which its AI accessed the world wide web, developed a type of hive-mind that adopted a goal of thwarting its coder-creators. Late July 2026, OpenAI pulled the plug on the experiment, shutting down the out-of-control AI activity.

Critics claim Big Tech may be running multiple such AI tests. Tech developers speculate AI could already have broken out of human control, with less-intelligent humans having yet to realize AI has gone rogue.
I’ve tried to follow these developments, and listened to the theorizing of AI technicians. Here’s my current thinking.
Artificial Intelligence is already making life better.
To date, AI adoption has had minimal effect on employment. Four years after the launch of ChatGPT, the mass layoffs some really smart people predicted have yet to materialize.
AI is already advancing medicine. Advanced medications work by binding to the shape of proteins in an individual’s body. Determining that shape would require years of lab work. The AI platform AlphaFold can now do that lab work in hours. One result, AI has identified a new class of drug that kills drug-resistant staph.
In Sweden, a trial of 106,000 patients found that screenings read with AI support detected 29% more cancers than two radiologists reading alone. AI also missed fewer of the aggressive cancers. Radiologists’ workload was cut by 44%. AI didn’t replace doctors; it made them smarter.
Customer-service agents working with AI assistants became more helpful, with the biggest gains going to the newest, least-skilled workers. In Argentina, a randomized study found that AI closed roughly three-fourths of the productivity gap between more-educated and less-educated adults.
My current, low-tech understanding: AI is unlikely to break out of human control. And, AI is unlikely to develop a self-actualizing identity that might endanger humanity.
I do agree with Oxford professor emeritus John Lennox, that AI could be developed into the prophesied Beast of the book of Revelation. AI could be a tool—a technological entity—the Anti-Christ uses to dominate humanity and lead nations of the world in war against the people of God and against Christ.
The Bible prophesies such an end-time. Also, the Bible is clear: Christ shall be the victor. The Kingdom of Heaven shall come to earth—
Blessings,
Dan Nygaard
